Results of the latest International Visitor Survey (IVS) published by Tourism Research Australia today show Australia has experienced its highest year on year growth since 2008. For the 12 months ending September 2014, total international arrivals increased 8 per cent to reach 6.3 million. Total trip spend reached $30.7 billion – a 9 per cent growth over the previous 12 month period. Tourism Australia Managing Director John O’Sullivan said the figures are “amongst the best annual international visitor figures we’ve seen in some while … and is exactly the kind of performance we need to sustain if we are to achieve our Tourism 2020 targets.” Mr O’Sullivan said that leisure continued to perform strongly and noted “positive signs of a return to growth in business-related travel.”
This is a trend that Flamin' Galah Sydney Tours and Aiport transfers hope to see for the future. It is very encouraging that there has been so much growth and certainly our Sydney tours business has noticed a big shift compared to three years ago. We are selling more and more private and customised tours particularly to cruise ship passengers and groups from Asia.
