Sydney Tours 3 Beaches Kayak Tour

Flamin' Galah Sydney Tours - Monday, May 27, 2013

During the amazing Sydney summer, Flamin' Galah Tours organised various active Sydney Tours for the students studying at ICMS.  One of the most successful trips we did was the 3 beaches kayak tour around Manly Cove.

This took about 3 hours and allowed those who did it to see just how tranquil and deserted some of the beaches are around Sydney Harbour.  The first beach was Reef Beach where the picture was taken from  Here we pulled the boats above the tide line and then walked our way up to a magnificent lookout with views across Manly Cove and North and South Head.  This is a lookout that is a highlight of Manly's wonderful Manly Scenic Walkway to the Spit Bridge.  After the lookout we then went back to the boats and paddled across the Harbour to Quarantine Beach.  As well as it being a wonderful beach, it is also home to a very informative and comprehenisve visitor centre that gives all sorts of historic information about the Quarantine Station at North Head and the countless ships that were forced to stop there for their 40 day quarantine period.  The station began its life in the early 1800's and is a very historic and fascinating place to visit.  After that beach we went around the corner to lie in the sun  and have a swim on my favourite of all the beaches - Store Beach.  It honestly feels like you are on a desert Island and is the perfect place to relax before paddling back to Manly and completing yet another classic Sydney Tour.
