The just released 2014 edition of the Hottest 100 Travel Websites from Experian Hitwise and TravelTrends.biz, shows that Australian use of global OTAs and meta-search sites like TripAdvisor, Booking.com, Agoda, Hotels.com. Expedia, Skyscanner and Trivago is outstripping use of their Aussie rivals, with growth at five or six times the rate of Australian sites.

The list was published by TravelTrends.biz, organiser of the annual TRAVELtech conference, to be held this year at the Sheraton Sydney on Friday 24 October.

Flamin' Galah Sydney Tours and Airport Transfers takes its Trip Advisor reviews very seriously as is now ranked 27 out of 315 Sydney activities.  We are also very proud to announce that we are ow boasting a full 5 stars and have received 51 out of 56 reviews which were "excellent".  Our reviews have come from various Sydney tours and Sydney trips which we run, such as our Home and Away tour to Palm Beach, Summer Bay, also our Blue Mountains and Hunter Valley tours and also our private customised tours, particularly those around Sydney city sights and Bondi

“The biggest take-out [from this report] is that Australian sites are getting hammered by global juggernauts,” said TravelTrends director Martin Kelly.

“TripAdvisor.com.au in particular is killing it, growing 18 per cent over the past year to record more than 10 million visits during August 2014.

“These stats put it on another level with a huge gap to site #3, qantas.com.au, on 6.8 million August visits – more than 3 million less than TripAdvisor,” said Kelly.

“No other site apart from Google has more, or is creating content quite so quickly or effectively. Thousands of new searchable pages are being created every day by TripAdvisor reviewers – the company doesn’t have to do a thing. Meanwhile, TripAdvisor’s transition to a hotel meta-search business model has been seamless and the site’s ‘stickier’ than it’s ever been”
