SYDNEY AND NSW AUSTRALIA'S FAVOURITE CITY AND STATE

Sydney, Australia’s number one tourism and major events destination, is also the world’s most liveable city according to a report released this week by one of the Asia Pacific’s leading professional services firms.

Sydney, Australia’s number one tourism and major events destination, is also the world’s most liveable city according to a report released this week by one of the Asia Pacific’s leading professional services firms.

The good news was confirmed with NSW continuing its dominant position in the Australian tourism market with the greatest share of visitors from around Australia according to the latest National Visitor Survey (NVS) also released this week by Tourism Research Australia.

Flamin' Galah Sydney Tours and Airport Transfers believe that Sydney's unique landscape made up of National Parks, beaches and of course Sydney Harbour are really what sets the city apart from so many of its rivals.  Its is an absolute pleasure showing off the diversity that exists and particularly making people aware of the lesser known gems and non-touristy places that tipify the spectacular Sydney scenery.

For the year end March 2014 NSW was visited by 26.3 million people living in Australia who stayed more than 85 million nights. Total expenditure by domestic overnight visitors in NSW grew by 10 per cent to $15.35 billion during the same period.

Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer Sandra Chipchase said, “Sydney and NSW remains the most popular place, with more visitor nights and expenditure than any other state.

“NSW visitor expenditure was also higher than any other state, capturing 29.3 per cent of total expenditure across Australia and exceeding our target for the year-end March 2014,” Ms Chipchase said.

“It is little wonder that Sydney and NSW topped these rankings, with golden beaches perfect for swimming and surfing, a thriving festival and events scene, world class attractions, shopping, great natural beauty and delicious dining,” she said.
