INTERNATIONAL FLEET REVIEW: THE HISTORIC JOURNEY BEGINS

Ships from all over the globe are en route to Sydney for the International Fleet Review, which marks the 100th year of Royal Australian Navy ships entering Sydney Harbour for the first time.

Ships from all over the globe are en route to Sydney for the International Fleet Review, which marks the 100th year of Royal Australian Navy ships entering Sydney Harbour for the first time.

The event will involve a series of events taking place across Sydney from 3 to 11 October and will include a spectacular fireworks and a light show across Sydney Harbour on Saturday 5 October featuring over 7,000 kilograms of pyrotechnics, which is equivalent to Sydney's 9pm and midnight New Year’s Eve fireworks combined. A fully choreographed light show will also be projected onto both sides of the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge Pylons and Maritime Museum's roof.

Promising to be one of the largest and most exciting events held on the Harbour since the 2000 Olympics, the International Fleet Review, however, isn't all about ships. There is also set to be a huge range of aircraft from all over the world. Don't miss the Historic Aircraft Restoration Society (HARS) single-engine aircrafts, including the Super Constellation, Lockheed P2V-7 Neptune, PBY Catalina, C47 Dakota, Winjeel, Auster Autocar and Tiger Moth.
