Hostelworld’s Ultimate Race in Sydney

This week marked the first ever Hostelworld Ultimate Race, the new event took place all over Sydney and is being cited as Hostelworld’s biggest offline promotion in history.

This week marked the first ever Hostelworld Ultimate Race, the new event took place all over Sydney and is being cited as Hostelworld’s biggest offline promotion in history.

20 nationalities were counted amongst the 112 participants from 12 of Sydney’s best hostels. The teams of course sharing one common goal – to become Hostelworld’s Ultimate Racers 2014. The race saw teams running around Sydney taking part in challenges across the city’s most iconic locations. Challenges and activities included a beach team race and surfing on Bondi Beach, Human Pyramids, Kylie Minogue Karaoke, Busking, Bush Tucker eating, Madame Tussauds, Ferries, Jet Boats and more.

The Social Media reach for the event was helped with hash tags #UltimateRace and #IloveSydney

Kristy Carstairs, Regional Manager South East Pacific of WRI (Hostelworld) said,  “This initiative was the biggest offline consumer campaign that we have undertaken in our 15 year history, our teams across all of our offices have had great feedback and from speaking with the competitors after the race many described it as their best day in Australia.
